Library

History: With a generous donation from longtime congregants Edith and Siegfried Kaiser, the Kol Shofar library was created in honor of their parents, holocaust survivors, and was appropriately named the Siegfried Kaiser Kol Shofar Library. In 1984, Jackie Grossman established Joanna's Corner, our children's section. Joanna was the daughter of congregants who died in 1986 at just two years of age.

Ellen Barr, a longtime congregant, also volunteered at this time, and she went on to serve as our librarian for some 32 years. In 2022, Ellen decided it was time to pass the baton over to our current librarian, Miriam Goldfien. Miriam's goal has been to add programming and modernize the library.
